Favorites :: Inks and Paints :: The Perfect DVD Sleeve Art for Mamoru Oshii's PATLABOR: The Mobile Police (1988-1989)

Artist: Unknown.

Hands down, my all-time favorite anime is Patlabor: The Mobile Police, which I came to completely ass-backwards by watching the movies first, beginning with the third one, which had little to do with gang of knot-heads of Special Vehicle Section 2, Division 2, who usually left quite an impression whenever called into service, usually in the form of a massive amount of property damage, which the artist captured perfectly in this chaotic mise en scène; and then came the second movie, and finally the first, which eventually led to the many permutations of the TV and DTV series. Of which, I had been enjoying immensely on Hulu but now appear to have been cycled out and are now nowhere to be found on any streaming sites. BOO! *sigh* Guess it's time to start saving up to purchase them all on disc. Expensive, but worth it. Love this series. Love the characters. Love the mechs. Love the mayhem. Noa and Alphonse 4VR!
