The King Kong poster is beautiful! And thrilling. I saw a Japanese poster for Suspiria that was beautiful and scary in perfect measure. You occasionally see these pop up on ebay, even the originals can be quite reasonable.
It is awesome, isn't it. And what boggles me even more is that when you look closely -- you can see through the windows. ALL OF THEM!
And that's where I found it, on an auction site -- and it was already sold. (Bummer.) I had never seen that image before, but I'm assuming that's on of Berkey's illustrations. Which means the reason it probably wasn't used domestically was because there was no way they could paste on that standard "roaring Kong" head onto it. Sad.
This one may be the best he did. There's one up for grabs now:
