Blogathon Alert :: Time to Que Up Charles Gounod's "Funeral March of a Marionette" and Get Your Hitchcock On!

Eeeeyeaah, this thing really snuck up on me in a helluva hurry. Wow. Okay. Well. It was announced a few months ago that this year's pledge drive for the The Film Preservation Blogathon was ear-marking its funds to help bring The White Shadow, an early silent film that Alfred Hitchcock did just about everything for except direct -- assistant director, screenwriter, film editor, production designer, art director, and set decorator, to the masses and defray the costs of adding a new soundtrack. And so, having had so much fun contributing to last year's Film Noir-fueled fundraiser to help patch-up Cy Endfield's The Sound of Fury, now, with the better late than never announcement outtatheway, I have every intention of participating again, showcasing the newspaper ads for Big Al's long and storied film career, where you'll find the Master of Suspense lurking in the darnedest of places...

So, come May 13, if you see this here button:

Donate early and often to the cause. For more information, check out the group's Facebook page. Big thanks, as always, to Ferdy on Film, The Self-Styled Siren and This Island Rod for throwing such a wide net for contributors. Until then, I bid you all a good ev-ah-ning.

I'm participating. Are you?
